Integrated Service Readiness & FRACAS Engineer

About the role

Alstom is looking for an Integrated Service Readiness (ISR) and FRACAS Engineer to join the ISR department within the Maintenance Performance Centre in Zurich. The role supports tender and project work for the Traxx locomotive sector, focusing on maintenance planning, life‑cycle cost optimisation and failure analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate ISR effort and create ISR plans for tenders and projects.
• Define, update and refine spare‑parts and special‑tool lists in collaboration with procurement and suppliers.
• Manage LSA activities to meet QCD obligations and allocate tasks to internal and external partners.
• Represent the ISR unit in project meetings, gate reviews and customer discussions.
• Prepare LCC calculations, monitor operational availability and continuously optimise maintenance plans, including condition‑based monitoring.
• Support FRACAS processes during warranty periods and contribute to FMEA/FMECA analyses.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (university or university of applied sciences).
• Minimum five years of field service, warranty and maintenance experience on locomotives.
• At least three years of RAM/LCC engineering experience in the electrical or mechanical sector.
• Strong knowledge of railway standards (e.g., EN17023, ECM) and the FRACAS process.
• Fluent in German and English (C1/C2); additional languages are a plus.
