Intern – Communications & Programme Support

About the role

The United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) within the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is seeking a proactive intern to support communications and programme activities. Working under the Head of UNRSF, the intern will help raise the visibility of global road‑safety challenges and assist in the management of the fund’s projects and calls for proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Call for Proposals process, including screening proposals, maintaining submission databases and preparing report information.
• Draft social‑media posts, website articles, briefing notes and other outreach materials.
• Assist with events, campaigns and projects by preparing agendas, taking concise meeting minutes and supporting logistical arrangements.
• Contribute to project‑management tasks such as results monitoring, and support project closing or extension processes.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the UNRSF Secretariat.

Required profile

• Ability to gather, analyse and synthesise information from diverse sources.
• Basic understanding of project and document management principles and event facilitation.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and take on new challenges.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; French or Spanish are a plus.

Required skills

• Full proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
