Description du poste

About the role

UNDP is recruiting two interns for its work on effective development cooperation, within the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) and the OECD-UNDP Joint Support Team for the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC). The interns report to the GPEDC Senior Team, one under the Policy Specialist and one under the Partnership and Advocacy Specialist. Positions are available in Switzerland or home-based.

Key responsibilities

  • Policy analysis and secretariat support (40%): support the 2027-2029 Work Programme, research trends in development effectiveness, contribute to the 5th GPEDC monitoring round with briefs, discussion papers, country stories and blog posts, draft briefing and guidance materials, and support data analysis and knowledge management.
  • Communications and advocacy support for monitoring (40%): help implement the 5th Monitoring Round launch plan, draft newsletters, blogs, videos, social media content and update the official Trello board, and maintain the website, data visualisation platform and Global Dashboard.
  • Events liaison (20%): provide logistical support to annual events, workshops, webinars and steering committee meetings, and draft emails and event briefings for partners including OECD and GPEDC Steering Committee members.

Required profile

  • Eligibility: enrolled in a postgraduate degree in Development Studies, Economics, Public Administration, International Relations or a related field; or in the final year of a bachelor's degree in one of those fields; or recently graduated and starting within one year; or enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship in one of those fields.
  • Fluent spoken and written English; French or Spanish is an asset.
  • Experience in developing countries is desirable.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and strong online research skills.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling, monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Graphic design, video production, advanced Excel, database management and Power BI are an asset.
  • Previous experience in research, policy development, communications, advocacy or event planning is an asset.

What we offer

  • Monthly stipend, varying by duty location, with part-time arrangements prorated.
  • If an institution, government or third party funds the intern, UNDP pays the difference between that support and the applicable stipend.
