Intern – Office of the Director, World Investment Forum

About the role

This unpaid, full‑time internship is based in the Office of the Director of the Division on Investment and Enterprise at UNCTAD in Geneva. The intern will support the preparation of the 2026 World Investment Forum and related activities, gaining exposure to investment for development, sustainable finance and private‑sector development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in organising the 2026 World Investment Forum and other meetings, including preparation of documentation, stakeholder liaison and scheduling.
• Conduct background research and draft speaking notes, speeches, articles and correspondence on investment‑related topics.
• Maintain and update databases, develop user surveys and other performance‑management tools.
• Prepare first drafts of analytical studies on investment and enterprise policies.
• Support monitoring and assessment of programmes and projects in investment for development, sustainable finance and gender‑related initiatives.
• Provide copies of all materials produced during the internship to the receiving department.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recent graduate of a university programme relevant to economics, international relations, public policy or a related field.
• Strong analytical and research abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently under supervision and meet tight deadlines.
