Intern – Security Forces

About the role

This internship is based in Geneva and supports the Global Operations Division of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. You will work with the MLPP team to help integrate human‑rights standards into training programmes for United Nations security personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in organising and delivering training on security forces, including logistical support, background research and preparation of training materials.
• Manage the training platform and intranet site, coordinate with participants, and support post‑training documentation and reporting.
• Create and maintain a library of videos and photographs illustrating law‑enforcement practices for use in exercises.
• Produce knowledge‑sharing materials, briefings and internal guidance documents; update intranet or knowledge‑management platforms.
• Support digitisation, organisation and management of documents, datasets and outreach activities.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s or equivalent) or in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme.
• Studies in human rights, international law, international relations, political science, public policy, governance or security‑sector related fields.
• Academic or practical exposure to human‑rights issues, security forces or UN‑related work is an asset.
