Internal Auditor

About the role

Lonza Audit Services is seeking a motivated Internal Auditor to join its small but impactful internal audit team in Basel. You will support and lead audit assignments across the Lonza Group, gaining deep business exposure while building a foundation for a future line‑management career.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on internal audit engagements, including complex reviews, consulting assignments, special projects, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead audit teams, coach colleagues, and coordinate external specialists throughout engagements.
• Present audit findings to stakeholders and produce concise reports that highlight key observations, root causes, and associated risks.
• Leverage data analytics and SAP configuration reviews to enhance audit effectiveness and contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies.
• Collaborate with global process owners to promote best practices, standardise processes, and harmonise controls.
• Monitor remediation of audit recommendations and report open or overdue actions to senior management.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives within Internal Audit and support broader efficiency projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Relevant experience as an auditor or audit manager.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to lead audit engagements and communicate results effectively.
