International Market Research Consultant – Non‑Traditional Flours (Caribbean)

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) seeks an experienced consultant to lead a market research study on non‑traditional flours in the Caribbean. The assignment focuses on cassava, sweet potato, breadfruit, dasheen and arrowroot, delivering actionable insights for commercialization and value‑chain development.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare an inception report with methodology, stakeholder mapping and workplan.
• Conduct desk review and evidence synthesis of existing market and technical documents.
• Produce a draft market study covering product assessment, buyer intelligence, competitor analysis, supply and logistics considerations.
• Develop a dedicated assessment note for gluten‑free markets, quantifying opportunities and recommending entry strategies.
• Create a product prioritization matrix and phased commercialization roadmap (12‑36 months).
• Provide market development input, including target market shortlist, supply catalogue guidance and route‑to‑market recommendations.
• Deliver a final revised report package and present findings to ITC and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in agricultural or food‑sector market research, preferably in developing‑country contexts.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize secondary data and produce clear, actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines over a three‑month period.
