International Tax Advisor – Investment Funds

About the role

We are seeking an International Tax Advisor to join a fund product development team for a leading Swiss bank. The role combines tax expertise with project management to support the design, launch and ongoing administration of investment fund structures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage fund product projects from legal, regulatory, operational and tax perspectives.
• Advise specialists and managers on tax implications of new fund products and financial transactions.
• Negotiate terms with law firms, draft side‑letters, memoranda and related documentation.
• Analyse transaction tax for existing investments, launch tax initiatives and monitor tax structuring.
• Prepare documentation for diverse fund structures and ensure compliance during investment onboarding.
• Coordinate tax projects with global tax firms and authorities.
• Develop service catalogs and define interfaces with operational teams.
• Research legal and regulatory considerations for specific clients, products and jurisdictions.
• Deliver training on tax best practices and transaction‑based tax issues.
• Commission and manage external legal advisors and service providers.
• Handle ad‑hoc situational projects as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Taxation or Law (MBA, LL.M. considered an advantage).
• Professional experience as a tax expert or tax lawyer at a Big‑Four, top international law firm or asset manager.
• Strong knowledge of investment‑fund regulations (UCITS, AIFMD, MiFID) and US fund regulations.
• Familiarity with private equity, real‑estate, debt and infrastructure fund structures and tax‑planning.
• Understanding of key fund jurisdictions such as Luxembourg, Delaware and the Cayman Islands.
• Ability to manage complex tax issues with internal and external stakeholders and meet tight timelines.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented and strong communicator; team player.
