Investment Associate - Private Debt Strategies

About the role

A well-established investment management company is looking for a Private Debt Investment Associate to join its Private Markets team and work alongside the Head of the Private Credit portfolio. You will support the sourcing, due diligence, execution, monitoring, reporting and investment activities in private credit funds and illiquid credit hedge funds (distressed strategies), with exposure to private equity and co-investments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform market research and analysis, map private credit markets and opportunities (US and Europe focus) and prepare market and strategy materials
• Support the origination and execution of private debt fund opportunities, including private equity and co-investment opportunities
• Assist in due diligence: screening, qualitative and quantitative analysis, financial modelling, investment documents and presentations, and subscriptions
• Help with portfolio monitoring, risk analysis, performance evaluation and related reporting
• Work with internal and external stakeholders and help build reporting tools and databases
• Take part in team discussions and travel to maintain a network of fund managers in Europe and the US and attend major investment conferences

Required profile

• 4 to 10 years of relevant fund investing experience, with at least 3 years in private credit
• Experience in special situations or distressed credit investing, direct lending (sponsored and non-sponsored) and mezzanine investing
• Experience in consumer debt, regulatory capital transactions, liquid credit, royalties, litigation finance or asset-backed credit is welcome; other investment experience such as PE, PERE or co-investments is a plus
• Master's degree; CFA or CAIA certification is a plus
• Fluent English; French and other languages are a plus
