IT Telecoms Contractor – Geneva

About the role

The United Nations Office at Geneva is seeking an IT Telecoms Contractor to support its ICT Service Desk Unit. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining telecom and network infrastructure for daily operations and high‑profile conferences.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, and test telecom software, hardware, cables, sockets, and switch‑room patches.
• Update and maintain ICT system data related to user requests, equipment inventories, vendor interfaces, and network configurations.
• Manufacture and install network‑compatible cables, LAN connections, mini‑switches, and Wi‑Fi networks.
• Provide telecom installation, configuration, and support for scheduled conferences.
• Escalate issues that cannot be resolved within existing network architecture.
• Perform other related duties as required by the Chief of the Service Desk Unit.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, telephony, networking, network support, electricity, or logistics.
• Fluency in oral and written French; knowledge of English is desirable.
