(Junior) Credit Recovery Manager

About the role

Julius Baer is hiring a (Junior) Credit Recovery Manager for its Impaired Asset Management team in Zurich. The role covers specific credit risk aspects of a portfolio of domestic and international private banking clients in financial distress, assessing, analysing and monitoring transactions for selected mortgage and/or Lombard clients, and supporting client discussions and negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the credit risk management of selected defaulted loans with the aim of loss minimisation
• Assist in credit and collateral analysis, help develop risk-mitigating strategies, perform collateral assessments and provisioning calculations under guidance
• Shadow and take part in client meetings on credit recovery loans, observing how the Bank's interests are protected
• Support senior credit recovery officers and deputise for them when needed
• Work with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient credit file handling
• Help with ad-hoc and recurring reporting, project-related activities and credit-related process improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or completed studies at a university of applied sciences (economics, banking, finance, law) or equivalent
• Initial professional experience or internships in recovery management, workout of credit files or the mortgage/Lombard sector (ideally 2-3 years)
• Basic understanding of the legal aspects of mortgage and Lombard business and borrowing structures, with a willingness to deepen this knowledge
• Ability to work under pressure, strong analytical skills and good teamwork across teams and stakeholders
• Excellent German and English (written and spoken); Italian or French is an advantage
