Junior Network & Security Engineer

About the role

Swiss Post Cybersecurity is seeking a Junior Network & Security Engineer to join its growing team. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to design, implement and maintain secure network infrastructures across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and support Fortinet and Cisco firewall and gateway products (first and second level support).
• Maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks using Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches.
• Manage Web Application security solutions (Layer 7) and participate in firewall and network integration projects, including complex migrations.
• Maintain vulnerability management platforms and regularly deploy software security updates.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in a similar role, preferably with an IT service provider.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security or a related technical field.
• Relevant certifications such as NSE4‑NSE7 and/or CCNP are a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Fortinet and Cisco network security components.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, high‑availability, geographical redundancy, static and dynamic routing.
• Understanding of network security principles, hardening methodologies and enterprise VPN technologies (Remote Access, Site‑to‑Site).
• Practical experience with gitOps deployments, Web Application Firewalls, IAM/SSO solutions.
