Junior Security Engineer

About the role

Join Alpian, the first Swiss digital private bank, as a Junior Security Engineer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work on protecting real banking systems, from laptops to cloud services, and help build a secure foundation for the company.

Key responsibilities

• Secure and manage the corporate IT fleet – macOS laptops, MDM, disk encryption, patching and endpoint protection.
• Maintain workplace security including Wi‑Fi, network segmentation and zero‑trust access.
• Work on identity and access controls – SSO, MFA, least‑privilege reviews and joiner/mover/leaver processes.
• Monitor, triage and investigate security alerts, distinguishing real threats from noise.
• Support vulnerability management – scanning, prioritising and tracking remediation.
• Assist with phishing defence and security‑awareness initiatives.
• Contribute to compliance and audit evidence for FINMA, ISO‑style controls.
• Write small scripts and automations to streamline security operations.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a strong interest in cybersecurity.
• Proactive attitude – reads security advisories, investigates anomalies and avoids default passwords.
• Enjoys learning how attackers think and building defensive solutions.
