Laboratory Assistant - HPLC Method Development

About the role

A recruitment agency is looking for a Laboratory Assistant for its client, an international company in the agricultural science industry. The role is based in Stein, Aargau, and involves independently delivering analytical service projects using HPLC and other analytical techniques, including method development, analysis and reporting to stakeholders. The start date is ideally 30 November 2026, with a duration until 31 December 2027, possibly extended.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and carry out analytical service operations for projects prioritized by the line manager
• Develop analytical protocols, establish sample management procedures, perform measurements, analyse data and report results
• Develop and validate new analytical methods with internal experts
• Plan and run complex, multifactorial experiments and manage sample reception and storage
• Maintain analytical equipment, troubleshoot technical issues with supplier support and follow site HSE regulations
• Process and analyse raw data with existing scripts and develop new ones as needed
• Manage timelines across multiple projects and escalate resource constraints
• Communicate analytical findings clearly, including to non-technical stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry with at least 3 years of practical laboratory experience using HPLC, or a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry with hands-on HPLC experience
• Valid authorization to work in Switzerland
• English at minimum B2 level; additional languages are an advantage

Required skills

• Practical experience with modern UPLC/HPLC equipment, including method development and validation
• Practical experience with Design of Experiments (DoE)
• Ability to plan and run complex analytical experiments independently
• Advantage: RStudio or Python scripting and knowledge of statistical analysis tools
