Lærer (100 % fast) – videreutvikle Grønn skole

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time teacher whose main mission will be to further develop the school’s Green School garden and lead the environmental team at Teigar Youth School in Nøtterøy, Norway. The role combines teaching duties with project leadership to create inclusive, sustainability‑focused learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing development of the school garden in collaboration with staff, students and external partners.
• Coordinate and expand the environmental team together with school management and environmental workers.
• Design and deliver inclusive learning activities, linking garden work with the school kitchen.
• Plan, conduct and evaluate teaching sessions; occasional classroom teaching is required.
• Promote wellbeing and learning for both students and staff on a daily basis.
• Participate actively in the professional community, contributing to pedagogical updates and development projects.

Required profile

• Approved teacher education and competence to teach primary‑school subjects.
• Strong interest in school gardening and ability to integrate it with kitchen activities.
• High work capacity, solution‑oriented and flexible.
• Confident teaching leader who puts students at the centre of learning.
• Excellent relational skills with students, parents, colleagues and partners.
• Aware of personal communication style and able to communicate clearly in Norwegian, both written and oral.
• Willingness to contribute positively to the professional community.
