Lead Android Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Android Engineer to drive the design and delivery of high‑performance mobile applications in a next‑generation decentralized cloud and AI platform. Based in Switzerland and working fully remotely within EMEA time zones, you will own the Android architecture and guide a team of engineers through the entire mobile lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Kotlin‑based Android applications with a focus on performance, reliability and long‑term quality.
• Define scalable mobile architectures, including MVVM and Clean Architecture, and enforce best practices for CI/CD, testing and releases.
• Integrate apps with RESTful backend services, implement offline sync, caching and resilient network communication.
• Optimize memory usage, battery consumption and runtime performance across devices.
• Lead code reviews, mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and documentation.
• Collaborate with backend, infrastructure and product teams to ensure seamless integration with distributed systems.

Required profile

• 5‑6+ years of professional experience as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer with a staff‑level mindset.
• Proven ability to make autonomous architectural decisions and drive quality across the mobile stack.
• Strong communication skills and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Fluent English and availability to work remotely within EMEA time zones.
