Lead Auditor – Banking Risk & Compliance

About the role

As a Lead Auditor you will oversee audits across a wide range of risk topics, including financial crime and business conduct, while adapting to emerging areas. You will independently manage the full audit cycle, from scoping to reporting, and act as a trusted partner to senior management in international locations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and communicate end‑to‑end audits, ensuring timely delivery of results.
• Draft clear, impactful audit reports and prepare statements for the Head of Group Internal Audit, the Board of Directors, or other decision‑makers.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and act as a sparring partner for management.
• Own the audit programme for Panama and the Bahamas, including annual risk assessment, activity planning and key contacts.
• Participate in special investigations, projects and serve as a Subject Matter Expert.

Required profile

• Banking apprenticeship, certified bank professional or higher business education (university or university of applied sciences).
• Professional certifications such as CIA, CFA or equivalent; CPA qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Auditor in banking audit (internal or external).
• Strong analytical ability, excellent communication and presentation skills, and a hands‑on, accountable work ethic.
• Willingness to travel abroad approximately 30 days per year.
• Fluent in English with strong writing skills; German, French or Spanish are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with Avaloq (advantageous).
