Lead Engineer – SaaS Platform (Remote, Switzerland)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to shape the technical vision of a fast‑growing SaaS platform that helps companies manage global teams. In a remote‑first environment based in Switzerland, you will combine strategic leadership with hands‑on development to deliver secure, high‑performance solutions for complex workforce management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own the architecture of new product features using Domain‑Driven Design principles.
• Define and maintain the engineering roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Contribute code to solve complex technical challenges, build proofs of concept, and create architectural enablers.
• Review code and enforce high software quality standards across the team.
• Make technical decisions on scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Design service‑oriented architectures for production‑grade SaaS applications.
• Document workflows, architectures, and engineering processes.
• Mentor engineers and support their career growth.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and align technical direction.
• Participate in recruitment to attract top engineering talent.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a technical lead or architect role.
• Proven track record building and scaling SaaS platforms in production.
• Experience with payment, payroll, invoicing, or other fintech domains.
• Strong focus on security, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
