Legal Advisor – Banking Sector (7‑month Temporary Assignment)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Advisor / Legal Counsel to support a bank’s Geneva office on a 7‑8 month temporary assignment. The role involves providing pragmatic, hands‑on legal assistance to business and risk teams within the banking sector.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and amend contracts, correspondence and other legal documents.
• Manage complaints, dispute handling and legal submissions.
• Provide practical advice on Swiss contractual, procedural, civil, debt‑collection, enforcement and criminal law matters.
• Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders in both French and English.
• Support business units and risk functions with timely, collaborative legal solutions.

Required profile

• Law degree in Swiss law (formerly lic. Iur.).
• 7+ years of solid professional experience, preferably in the financial industry.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss law, especially contractual, procedural, civil, debt‑collection, enforcement and criminal matters.
• Demonstrated interest in banking and financial law with developing expertise.
• Team‑oriented, proactive, communicative personality with a hands‑on mentality.
• Fluent French and English (minimum C2 level).
