Legal Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer (MiCA)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory & Compliance Affairs Manager to own our MiCA licence end‑to‑end, lead the AML function and mature our governance framework as we scale. The role combines hands‑on regulatory work, policy drafting and team leadership within a fast‑growing crypto brokerage and voucher card business.

Key responsibilities

• MiCA License Management – maintain the existing MiCA licence, act as primary contact for the FMA, coordinate external counsel, monitor regulatory developments and submit required reports.
• AML Oversight – manage the AML team, ensure KYC, transaction monitoring, SAR filing and risk assessments are up to date, and act as Money Laundering Officer or Deputy.
• Governance – improve governance structures, policies and internal controls, design committees and escalation processes, and support internal and external audits.
• Legal Oversight – Gift Card Business – assess licensing implications, review contracts and partner agreements, and coordinate with external counsel on e‑money/payment services matters.
• Additional responsibilities – bridge business and compliance, provide regulatory input for new products, manage relationships with law firms and auditors, and contribute to horizon‑scanning and training.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a regulatory or compliance manager in the financial or crypto sector.
• Hands‑on ability to engage with regulators, draft policies and lead a team.
• Deep knowledge of MiCA, AML/CFT requirements and EU regulatory frameworks such as DORA.
• Experience coordinating external legal counsel and managing compliance budgets.
• Strong governance and audit support background.
