Legal Counsel – Cross‑Border (Full‑time)

About the role

The Legal Wealth Management team at Julius Baer is looking for a full‑time Legal Counsel focused on cross‑border matters. You will support business units, compliance and risk by ensuring that the bank’s investment solutions and distribution activities meet local and international legal and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on cross‑border regulatory requirements such as licensing, passporting and product registration.
• Support the Cross‑Border Risk Owner with legal analysis, risk assessments and governance frameworks.
• Develop and maintain group‑level policies, country guidelines and product offering guidelines for cross‑border distribution.
• Coordinate with external counsel across jurisdictions to assess admissibility and compliance of overseas activities.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate them into actionable steps for the business.
• Participate in strategic projects and internal committees that require deep legal expertise in private banking.
• Prepare clear guidance and training material for diverse stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law; admission to the bar in Switzerland or an EU country is a plus.
• 4‑6 years of experience in financial services law, preferably from a top‑tier law firm or bank.
• Strong understanding of banking and financial services regulations (e.g., MiFID II, FinSA/FinIA).
• Excellent written and spoken English; German is an asset.
• Proactive, collaborative and able to work in a matrix environment.
