Legal Counsel – Fintech (Europe)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join a fast‑scaling fintech organization operating across Europe. The role sits at the intersection of law, financial‑services regulation and product innovation, supporting the launch of new financial products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to internal stakeholders on regulatory, commercial and operational matters.
• Support the design, rollout and cross‑border expansion of new financial products, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review and negotiate customer agreements, disclosures, account documentation and website legal content.
• Manage and negotiate commercial agreements with institutional clients, partners and counterparties.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries and interactions with UK, EU and global financial regulators and exchanges.
• Collaborate with external counsel when specialised expertise is required.
• Assess and mitigate legal risk across business initiatives and product developments.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer (solicitor or barrister) with 3‑5+ years of experience in financial services, fintech, law firms or regulatory environments.
• Strong academic background and excellent legal analysis and reasoning abilities.
• Proven ability to interpret and simplify complex legal and regulatory concepts.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, cross‑functional, globally distributed teams.
• Practical, solution‑oriented business judgment and ability to manage legal projects independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in fintech, digital assets, capital markets or blockchain technologies.
• Eligible to work in Europe or the UK without sponsorship (preferred).
