Managing Director, Private Credit / Senior Lending

About the role

A private credit firm is looking for an entrepreneurial leader to expand its senior lending business in the German-speaking SME sector. You will source and execute transactions in sponsored and non-sponsored sectors, build the portfolio and handle selected fundraising and investor relations. The role is based in Zurich.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing, due diligence, structuring and execution of senior lending transactions in the German-speaking SME sector
• Building a network with banks, private equity firms, M&A advisers, auditors and other sourcing partners
• Leading due diligence and developing and negotiating financing structures
• Preparing and presenting transactions to the Investment Committee
• Actively managing the existing and future portfolio, including monitoring, reporting and supporting portfolio companies
• Maintaining relationships with institutional advisers, funds of funds, selected global investors and placement agents

Required profile

• Degree in economics or law, or equivalent qualification with a focus on finance
• At least 8-10 years' experience in private credit, senior lending or corporate banking
• Proven transaction experience with medium-sized companies in German-speaking countries
• Strong personal sourcing network and sound understanding of corporate finance
• Experience structuring, negotiating and executing debt financing and in portfolio management
• Native-level German and business-fluent English; French is an advantage
