Manufacturing Engineer – Surgical Robotics

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the full product lifecycle of surgical robotic instruments, ensuring reliable, efficient production and continuous improvement as volumes increase. Based in Epalinges, the role collaborates with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to production, resolving process deviations, equipment issues, and quality events through structured root‑cause analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement by turning data and analysis into better processes, designs, and cost reductions.
• Monitor and improve process capability, first‑pass yield, cycle time and cost per unit.
• Establish and maintain manufacturing documentation such as process flows and pFMEAs.
• Review field complaints, contribute to root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Plan and execute process, test method and equipment validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) in line with ISO 13485.
• Act as the manufacturing voice during product development to ensure design‑for‑manufacturing and design‑for‑assembly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering, industrialisation or process development experience in the medical device industry.
• Knowledge of precision mechanical assembly and controlled‑environment manufacturing.
• Experience developing and qualifying manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing statistical tools.
• Fluent in English and French.

• Minitab or similar statistical analysis software.
• SolidWorks or comparable CAD tools.
• Precision mechanical assembly techniques.
• Manufacturing equipment qualification.
• Process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) procedures.
