Mechanical Design Engineer – 3D CAD (Inventor)

About the role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will integrate existing Metso products into customer‑specific solutions, creating 3D models, parts lists, drawings and specifications. You will work closely with internal project teams and external suppliers to deliver high‑quality, on‑time results while supporting the continuous improvement of our Stirred Mill product line.

Key responsibilities

• Construct and integrate customer‑specific solutions using 3D CAD models, parts lists, drawings and specifications.
• Implement product‑specific optimizations and maintenance improvements.
• Review and document auxiliary systems such as gearboxes, lubrication units, valves and tools supplied by vendors.
• Plan and execute projects independently, ensuring quality, schedule adherence and budget compliance.
• Collaborate closely with project management, service teams and other internal interfaces.
• Participate actively in R&D projects and ensure compliance with relevant standards and norms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience with 3D CAD/PDM systems, preferably Inventor and Vault.
• Hands‑on experience in manufacturing and assembly of mechanical components.
• Structured, independent, goal‑oriented work style with strong communication skills.
• Fluent in German and English (additional languages are a plus).
