Mechanical & Electrical Technician

About the role

Destinus is looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join its engineering team. The role involves hands‑on assembly, integration and testing of mechanisms, safety devices, pyrotechnic assemblies and propulsion systems in a safety‑critical aerospace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate mechanical and electrical components for various aerospace mechanisms.
• Install and solder wiring harnesses, sensors, initiators and electronics to aerospace‑grade standards.
• Perform quality checks and functional tests, ensuring conformance to engineering specifications.
• Handle energetic and hazardous materials following safety protocols, permits and operating procedures.
• Write, maintain and follow SOPs for assembly, integration and testing operations.
• Conduct mechanical testing and validation, record results and flag non‑conformances.
• Support troubleshooting and corrective actions together with engineering and QA teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of assembly workflows while maintaining safety and quality compliance.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship or degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics technology.
• Strong hands‑on experience with both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in cable harnessing, soldering and high‑integrity electrical installations.
• Willingness to work with energetic, pyrotechnic or other hazardous materials; knowledge of related safety requirements is a plus.
• Experience with quality control, functional testing and documentation standards in a production or engineering setting.
• Ability to write and execute detailed SOPs in a safety‑critical environment.
• High attention to detail and disciplined, methodical approach.
• Fluency in English; German is a plus.
