Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Sunflower Labs is seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to design, build and test hardware for its autonomous AI‑powered drone security system. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to turn concepts into reliable, manufacturable products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and revise mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, produce technical drawings and bills of materials.
• Build, assemble and test prototypes, using measurement data to refine designs.
• Design jigs and fixtures to support prototyping, assembly and testing.
• Apply design‑for‑manufacturing and assembly principles, incorporating feedback from suppliers and production.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to integrate components, resolve mechanical issues and document procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent practical experience.
• Practical experience designing, building and testing mechanical components or assemblies.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, with solid understanding of technical drawings, tolerances and DFM/DFA.
• Hands‑on experience with prototyping, mechanical assembly and testing.
• Good written and spoken English and a collaborative working style.

• Thermal management and thermal simulation
• Structural analysis / Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) or SolidWorks PDM
