Mechanical Production Engineer - Modification Group

About the role

A young, owner-managed company in the aircraft industry is looking for a Mechanical Production Engineer for its Modification Group. The engineer designs aircraft interior modifications and installations and supports the team leader with administrative and organisational tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Design aircraft interior structure, systems and furnishing modifications, installations and integrations
• Support project preparation such as requests for quotation, order descriptions and material orders
• Prepare layout drawings, handle engineering change notes from production or installation teams and prepare compliance documentation (E.O., drawing lists)
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers of mechanical parts and systems, and with internal engineering and production teams
• Select equipment, components and materials, and develop mechanical drawings (2D/3D CAD)
• Prepare installation instructions, test procedures and engineering design standards
• Ensure certification basis, rules and regulations and means of compliance are applied correctly in the engineering output

Required profile

• Relevant engineering degree, preferably aeronautical engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar function
• Excellent written and verbal English; French and/or German is an advantage
• Ability to work independently, with accuracy, attention to detail and safety awareness

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office
• Proficiency in popular 2D/3D design software such as AutoCAD and CATIA
