Metrology Engineer – Process Engineer (R&D)

About the role

Axetris AG is seeking a Metrology Engineer to act as the bridge between R&D and production in its wafer‑manufacturing line. The role focuses on maintaining and advancing inspection and measurement systems that support the company’s micro‑optical and MEMS‑based gas detector products.

Key responsibilities

• Own multiple inspection and measurement systems used in wafer manufacturing, providing problem analysis, troubleshooting and second‑level support.
• Specify, evaluate, procure, install and qualify new equipment and production resources.
• Perform data analysis, statistical evaluations and prepare results for internal stakeholders.
• Develop new measurement and test methods, recipes and parameters, and transfer them into production.
• Contribute to quality documentation such as PFMEA, Control Plans and process flows.
• Procure, test and develop data‑processing software for production use.
• Train operators and ensure compliance with working procedures and safety regulations.

Required profile

• M.Sc. degree in Microengineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
• Experience with manufacturing and/or measurement processes in the semiconductor industry.
• Hands‑on experience in cleanroom or laboratory environments.
• Fluent German and English communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with a structured, solution‑oriented approach.
