NewGen Project Manager

About the role

As NewGen Project Manager at ABB, you will shape how projects are planned, delivered and adopted, turning ambitious ideas into measurable business outcomes. You will work with colleagues across functions and business areas, reporting to the Resource Manager. The role sits within the IS function and follows ABB directives and program management standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define the project planning strategy, delivery approach (waterfall, agile or hybrid), scope, schedule, budget, resources, timelines and work allocation with stakeholders
• Plan, coordinate and deliver projects within agreed time, scope, cost and quality; keep plans, charters and progress up to date
• Create key documents such as scope, acceptance criteria, financials, schedules and risk plans, and guide work through phases and stage gates
• Ensure activities follow company, program and IS procedures, quality and safety standards
• Identify, mitigate and monitor risks, issues and decisions, track progress, costs and resources and address variances early
• Act as escalation point for stakeholders, manage expectations, prepare and drive project and budget approvals, and define governance structures and committees
• Report performance against plans and business outcomes, ensure smooth project closure with lessons learned, and support adoption of change across business areas

Required profile

• More than 12 years of project management experience, ideally in transformation or change programs
• Proven track record of aligning projects with program objectives and delivering measurable business outcomes
• Comfortable working in cross-functional environments with many stakeholders
• Strengths in project planning and execution, resource and budget management, and risk, issue and dependency management
• A recognized certification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, an Agile/Scrum certification (CSM or SAFe), or ABB Program PM Certified under the IS Function Standard
