Night Care Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a caring, motivated, and proactive Night Care Team Leader to join our residential and nursing care teams. This permanent position works on a rotating 2‑week roster, covering evenings and weekends, and offers an average of 40.25 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate care staff during 12‑hour night shifts (8 pm–8 am) to maintain high standards of care.
• Support residents with personal care, daily living activities, and promote their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and resident requests.
• Mentor, motivate, and supervise care staff, including agency workers, and assist with induction and ongoing development.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure effective communication with residents, families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
• Uphold health, safety, safeguarding, and compliance with CQC regulations and organisational policies.

Required profile

• QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Experience in a care environment, including supervising staff and supporting older people with dementia or physical disabilities.
• Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and person‑centred care practices.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational abilities.
• Flexible, compassionate approach to resident needs.

Required skills

• Good IT skills, including use of electronic care planning systems.
