Ocean Operations Manager (m/f)

About the role

We are a rapidly expanding logistics powerhouse seeking an Ocean Operations Manager to lead end‑to‑end ocean freight operations across key trade lanes. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management to drive performance, efficiency and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing ocean operations team.
• Oversee full‑cycle FCL and LCL shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Optimize carrier relationships, negotiate rates and manage contracts.
• Improve operational KPIs such as cost control, transit times and service levels.
• Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes and reporting.
• Act as the liaison between operations, commercial teams and clients.

Required profile

• Strong background in ocean freight operations management.
• Proven leadership experience in freight forwarding or contract logistics.
• Commercial awareness with ability to influence carrier strategy.
• Process‑driven mindset and track record of optimisation.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑growth, evolving environment.

Required skills

• Experience managing Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments.
• Negotiation skills with ocean carriers.
• Knowledge of ocean freight KPIs and performance metrics.
