Operations Engineer

About the role

As an Operations Engineer at Ivy Partners you will provide 24/7 on‑call support for Asset Dispatch solutions in the energy sector, acting as the primary technical authority during real‑time dispatch incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide rotating 24/7 on‑call support for Asset Dispatch, handling real‑time dispatching incidents.
• Lead incident resolution, communication and escalation in line with SLAs, coordinating with operators, dispatchers, TSOs, infrastructure teams, vendors and external support providers.
• Diagnose and resolve functional and technical issues affecting production dispatching, SCADA systems, AGC behavior, market instructions and TSO communications.
• Support and troubleshoot real‑time integrations with TSOs via ICCP, handling data model consistency, synchronization, connectivity and certification issues; work with protocols such as DNP3, IEC 104, Modbus and OPC.
• Perform packet‑level analysis to isolate system or network issues, collaborating with infrastructure teams as needed.
• Implement and validate configuration changes to ensure stability, performance and reliability of the Asset Dispatch solution.
• Understand market operations versus real‑time dispatch constraints to support accurate decision‑making.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in the energy sector (power generation, utilities, trading) with strong electricity trading and planning expertise.
• Experience with ISO/RTO environments (ERCOT is a plus) and managing energy assets such as gas CCGT plants, batteries and renewables.
• Proven ability to lead and coach engineering teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Degree in business, technology or engineering; certifications (ITIL, PMI, Agile, cloud, databases) are a plus.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.
