Operations Manager - Silicon Photonics Foundry

About the role

LIGENTEC, a leader in low-loss SiN photonics, is expanding into SOI silicon photonics with pathways for heterogeneous integration. It is looking for an experienced, highly connected Operations Manager with a strong background in the silicon photonics ecosystem to help accelerate market entry and adoption of SOI technology. The role covers Swiss production teams, a third-party foundry (FAB) and Swiss facility and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Swiss production teams (front end and back end)
• Oversee daily operations at the third-party FAB, covering production scheduling, cycle time reduction and tool usage optimisation
• Ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets are met and operational bottlenecks are mitigated
• Cultivate the strategic relationship with the FAB partner, securing production capacity while driving cost savings
• Direct and maintain the Swiss facilities so that office requirements are met, and oversee end-to-end shipping and receiving
• Manage all purchasing operations with a focus on ongoing cost savings without compromising quality
• Evaluate, select and manage suppliers to ensure reliability, compliance and competitive pricing

Required profile

• 10+ years of proven experience in the semiconductor industry
• Deep familiarity with foundry operations, materials and production processes
• Proven managerial experience, including managing other managers in complex matrix organisations
• Strong background in supplier relations, vendor assessment and contract management
• Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of cost-effective outcomes
• Experience in a multinational, multi-site corporate environment
• Fluent English is essential; French is a significant advantage
