Partner – Business Law (Swiss)

About the role

Our client, an international business law firm with a growing presence in Switzerland, is seeking experienced Swiss‑based Partners to join the Zurich office. The role involves leading complex legal matters for corporate clients across a range of sectors and contributing to the firm’s expansion in the Swiss market.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and support companies of all sizes on Swiss business law, including corporate, commercial, IP, tax, competition, and litigation matters.
• Prepare and execute start‑ups, financing rounds, M&A transactions, restructurings, reorganisations and liquidations.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, legal submissions and other relevant documents.
• Represent clients before courts, arbitration tribunals and administrative authorities.
• Manage and develop junior lawyers and trainee staff.
• Maintain existing client relationships and acquire new domestic and international clients.
• Monitor legislative and case‑law developments and share insights within the firm.
• Collaborate with internal and external colleagues worldwide and supervise correspondent lawyers.

Required profile

• Law degree from a continental European university (MLaw or lic. iur.) with a Swiss bar admission or equivalent practice permit.
• Several years of Swiss legal experience in a business law firm or in‑house, preferably covering corporate/M&A, commercial, IP/IT, tax, competition, or litigation.
• Experience in sectors such as financial services, life sciences, general industry or digital assets is advantageous.
• Fluency in English and good German; additional European languages (e.g., French) are a plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, leadership abilities and an existing client base are strong assets.
