Patient Care Specialist

About the role

Spero Health is seeking a Patient Care Specialist to support its mission of saving lives, instilling hope and restoring relationships. The specialist works in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment, treating the whole person through integrated care.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls politely and on time, and promptly reply to emails and online chat messages.
• Communicate with patients and teammates in a courteous, professional, cooperative and mature way, demonstrating strong customer service.
• Schedule appointments and register new patients, verify healthcare insurance and schedule appointments using computerized scheduling systems.
• Document patient records accurately in proper English, grammar, spelling and syntax.
• Maintain accurate patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal, financial and insurance information.
• Resolve patient issues and consistently meet or exceed service expectations.
• Meet performance goals such as efficiency, call quality, attendance, calls per day and patient satisfaction.
• Raise critical concerns with the manager and recommend solutions.
• Protect patient rights by keeping personal and financial information confidential and following HIPAA regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of related experience required.
