Physical Education Teacher – Maternity Cover (12‑month)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Physical Education teacher to cover a maternity leave at La Côte International School in Aubonne, Switzerland. The appointment runs from December 2026 to October 2027 and involves teaching across the whole school, as well as coordinating ski and residential programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality PE lessons to students from early years through secondary level.
• Plan, organise and lead ski days, ski club, ski team activities and winter/summer residential trips.
• Accompany school teams to local and international sport tournaments.
• Contribute to trips, excursions and extracurricular sport events.
• Promote health and safety for assigned classes and supervise activities.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and school‑wide training.
• Serve as a secondary‑school homeroom teacher on a daily basis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education with QTS status or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
• Proven ability to teach PE across early years and primary curricula.
• Valid work permit and clean criminal record.
• First‑aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills

• Competent skier able to navigate intermediate to difficult terrain; racing experience and ski qualification are a plus.
• Strong organisational skills for managing trips and ski programmes.
• Fluent English; French language ability desirable.
