Planning Engineer / Project Controller

About the role

The Planning Engineer will join Lonza's project controls team in Visp, overseeing the planning and scheduling of a pharmaceutical EPC project. You will ensure the master schedule remains accurate, support progress tracking, and communicate key milestones to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and update the master Primavera P6 schedule at multiple levels.
• Track progress of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning using appropriate tools.
• Maintain schedule basis documents, including deliverable and interdependency matrices.
• Lead or support cross‑functional planning sessions and feed inputs into the schedule.
• Monitor schedule deviations, propose corrective actions, and conduct critical‑path analysis.
• Prepare regular progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analyses.
• Ensure schedule quality, governance, and data credibility.
• Review integrated discipline schedules and incorporate timely data.
• Produce reports in line with Lonza procedures for project management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Strong ability to interpret schedule data and present it to senior management.
• Excellent written and oral communication, with strong influencing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working in a global, pharmaceutical EPC environment.
• Robust analytical capabilities and comfort with large data sets.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities and fast‑paced work.
