Postgraduate Program Biologics (TRD) – Basel

About the role

Novartis offers a 2-year rotational postgraduate program in Technical Research and Development (TRD) Biologics in Basel, starting in April 2027. It is open to recent Master's graduates in chemistry, biology or engineering and covers Drug Product Development, Drug Substance Development, Global Device and Packaging Development and Analytical Development. Each 6-month rotation places you in expert teams working on real projects. The program is limited to 2 years and is on-site in Basel.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to lab-based (80%) and office-based (20%) TRD-biologics projects
• Conduct experiments and generate data on TRD-biologics projects
• Document and present results related to project activities
• Collaborate with internal and external development partners and stakeholders
• Learn how the different units of the TRD-Biologics organization work together

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent (PhDs will not be considered)
• Fluent English
• Independent, fast learner and adaptable to new environments
• Eligible to work in Switzerland

Required skills

• Hands-on lab experience with autonomous project handling
• Basic understanding of pharmaceutical development, including container closure systems
• Familiarity with one or more areas such as protein production, analytical methods (HDPB, RPC, SEC, particle analysis) and bioanalytical methods (ELISA, cell-based assays, flow cytometry), molecular biology (cloning, PCR, viral vectors, CRISPR), or programming and data modeling (Python, R)
