Principal Data Scientist

About the role

Oracle is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to help shape the next generation of AI‑driven data platforms. Based in Zurich with a hybrid work model, you will operate at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data engineering, and enterprise architecture, influencing how data and intelligence are combined across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, AI‑centric platforms that integrate generative AI and large language models.
• Lead the implementation of retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and model evaluation frameworks.
• Architect and prototype AI agent solutions using multi‑agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph or CrewAI.
• Translate complex analytical problems into actionable research projects and prototype solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of AI capabilities into enterprise products.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in data science or machine learning, with a strong software development background.
• Proven expertise in generative AI systems, large language models, RAG, and model evaluation.
• Deep understanding of AI agent concepts, including planning, tool use, memory management, multi‑agent collaboration, and autonomous decision‑making.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
