About the role

On is scaling its Finance and Operations technology platforms and seeks a Principal Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high‑performance systems across supply chain, logistics, ERP and financial services.

Key responsibilities

Drive collaborative, inclusive projects with teams in Zurich, Berlin and London, balancing technical solutions with business goals.
Define and execute strategies for scaling core finance and operations services, ensuring security, compliance and high availability.
Lead by example, contributing hands‑on code, mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar.

Required profile

10+ years of experience building and optimizing high‑traffic, high‑availability systems.
Proven track record as a Principal Engineer delivering large‑scale technical initiatives.
Strong problem‑solving, business acumen and excellent English communication.

Required skills

Proficiency in at least one object‑oriented language (e.g., Java, C#) or TypeScript.
Experience with Node.js, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kafka Streams.
