Process and Project Engineer

About the role

GXP Consulting Switzerland is seeking a Process and Project Engineer to support client projects through planning, construction and start‑up phases in the life‑sciences infrastructure sector. The role combines technical design, coordination and commissioning responsibilities to ensure successful plant delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead study, detailed design and execution phases of projects.
• Coordinate internal teams and external engineering firms.
• Generate feasibility and conceptual studies, ensuring regulatory compliance and internal approvals.
• Support project execution through to successful start‑up.
• Perform calculations and produce documentation, specifications, and plant designs.
• Provide 3D coordination, resolve collisions and make necessary adjustments.
• Conduct commissioning, acceptance testing and participate in integral tests with partners.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Process, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in project engineering, planning, construction or start‑up of chemical, pharma or biopharma plants.
• Strong knowledge of engineering documentation such as URS, FS, TS, PFDs, P&IDs and layouts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Independent working style capable of handling multi‑disciplinary, complex environments.
• Familiarity with EPC/EPCM project models is an asset.
• Fluent in German and English.
