Product Security Engineer

About the role

Proton is seeking a Product Security Engineer to lead the security of its privacy‑focused applications, including Mail, Calendar, VPN, Pass, Drive and Drive. You will work at the heart of Proton’s mission to protect user data and ensure that every product release meets the highest security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive security requirements across Proton’s product portfolio.
• Conduct threat modeling, code reviews and security testing for new and existing features.
• Collaborate daily with product, engineering and operations teams to embed security into the development lifecycle.
• Lead incident response and vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Champion a security‑first mindset and challenge existing processes to improve overall product resilience.

• Deep expertise in application and product security, with a genuine passion for privacy.
• Proven ability to innovate efficiently and challenge the status quo.
• Strong collaborative skills and a willingness to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
• Adaptability to fast‑moving, start‑up‑like environments.
