About the role
In this position you will oversee the medical, economic, organizational and academic management of the hematology clinic at the University of Basel. You will leverage your clinical expertise and research background to raise the national and international profile of hematology while ensuring high‑quality patient care and education.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the clinic’s medical, economic, organizational and academic activities.
- Enhance clinical services and foster collaboration with hematological diagnostics, the Basel Blood Donation Center, oncology and related departments.
- Provide advanced training for resident and senior physicians in line with SIWF standards.
- Lead a hematology research group and contribute to international study groups.
- Promote a supportive, team‑based environment for translational research.
- Ensure continuous improvement of clinical services.
- Cultivate the next generation of academic professionals through teaching and mentorship.
- Establish an attractive working environment for academic and clinical specialists.
