Project Engineer (GMP Manufacturing)

About the role

The Project Engineer will lead technical concept development and manage small‑to‑medium investment projects within a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment. You will work closely with internal customers, external partners and production teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical concepts, evaluate alternatives and assess operational impact.
• Manage projects from feasibility through detailed engineering, execution and hand‑over.
• Own project scope, budget, schedule, technical quality and functionality.
• Perform process‑engineering calculations, plant assessments and optimisation studies.
• Prepare feasibility studies for new installations, equipment upgrades and modifications.
• Coordinate internal specialists, external engineering partners, contractors and suppliers.
• Support production changes, equipment implementation and new product launches.
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules, technical documentation and funding requests.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering or investment projects in a GMP‑regulated environment.
• Proven track record delivering projects with responsibility for scope, timelines, costs and technical functionality.
• Experience with feasibility studies, detailed engineering, cost estimation and project scheduling.
• Advanced written and spoken English and German.
