Project Manager – High‑Voltage Equipment & Substations

About the role

ALTEN Switzerland is seeking a Project Manager to lead the technical engineering of high‑voltage equipment and substation projects from tendering through execution and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the engineering of high‑voltage and substation projects throughout all phases, including tendering, execution and commissioning.
• Develop and implement technical solutions that meet customer requirements, specifications and applicable standards.
• Provide technical consulting and create tailored engineering solutions together with customers.
• Participate in customer and site meetings during feasibility studies, project execution and commissioning, with occasional travel.
• Ensure quality‑compliant, technically sound solutions while coordinating activities across multiple departments and interfaces.
• Support project execution according to contractual requirements and assist commercial managers in identifying further business opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of high‑voltage equipment, substation engineering and power transmission & distribution systems.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in technical project engineering or project management.
• Analytical, solution‑oriented, independent and cost‑conscious work approach.
• Structured, reliable and self‑driven with strong organisational and planning skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical discussions with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Business‑fluent English; German is an advantage.
