Railway Engineer – ETCS

About the role

agap2 is seeking an experienced ETCS Engineer to join its Swiss team. You will work on the design, integration and implementation of European Train Control System solutions for railway projects, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and validate ETCS solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support engineering, configuration, testing and commissioning of onboard and trackside ETCS systems.
• Ensure compliance with railway standards, safety regulations and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including signalling, software, validation and project management.
• Participate in system integration, verification, validation and troubleshooting activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test specifications and engineering reports.
• Analyse technical issues, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Railway or Computer Engineering.
• Proven experience with ETCS signalling systems in the railway industry.
• Strong understanding of ETCS architecture, railway signalling principles and system integration.
• Experience in verification, validation, testing or commissioning is an advantage.
• Familiarity with CENELEC standards and railway safety processes is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English.
• Analytical, solution‑oriented and able to work effectively in a team.
