R&D Control Hardware Team Lead (80-100%)

About the role

In this position you will lead a team of R&D experts focused on control hardware for medium voltage drives. The role contributes to ABB’s Motion High Power Solutions portfolio in Switzerland and works closely with product management, service and product engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, guide, and supervise a team of control hardware and firmware experts responsible for medium voltage drives.
• Coordinate activities related to the electronics development process, including requirements engineering, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Ensure effective and efficient operational procedures in collaboration with local and global R&D and engineering teams.
• Perform line‑management duties such as hiring, HR development, and coordination of various tasks at team level.

Required profile

• Strong background in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven track record with PCBA and electronics development.
• Several years of experience in project management and/or electronics development.
• Well‑developed organizational and strategic abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and people‑management skills.
• Excellent command of English, preferably complemented by German.
