R&D Engineer

About the role

Kanadevia Inova is seeking a motivated R&D Engineer to develop and implement cutting‑edge waste‑to‑energy technologies. You will work on both process and hardware innovations, translating research into operational solutions that create value from waste.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test process, machine, sensor, and control technologies.
• Lead sub‑projects hands‑on, from concept through prototype validation.
• Analyse and refine logic diagrams, alarms, human‑machine interfaces, and plant data.
• Optimize and integrate advanced control algorithms.
• Perform on‑site activities such as installing and testing instrumentation, validating setups, and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate existing processes to increase automation and extract data‑driven KPIs.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable work packages and execute them.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in process, automation, mechanical or related engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in engineering, technical solution development, automation or applied R&D (TRL 6+).
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work autonomously.
• Willingness to travel across Europe for prototype implementation (≈15%).

Required skills

• Process design and engineering fundamentals (mechanics, chemistry, physics, thermodynamics).
• Automation and digitalisation expertise (network & communication, PLC, instrumentation).
• Control algorithm development and integration.
• Data analysis and statistical KPI creation.
