Safety Engineer (HARA / FMEDA / SIL) – Fuel Cell Systems

About the role

EH Group Engineering is developing compact, high‑power‑density fuel cells for heavy‑duty mobility and stationary power. We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to embed safety into our fuel‑cell systems, leading hazard analysis and safety engineering across hardware, software and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Own the functional safety lifecycle for fuel‑cell systems from concept to release.
• Lead hazard and risk analyses (HARA, HAZOP, FMEA/FMEDA, FTA) and define safety goals.
• Derive safety requirements, allocate them across hardware, software and controls, and verify safety mechanisms and diagnostics.
• Perform safety calculations (SIL/PL/ASIL determination, PFH/PFD) and compile safety cases and documentation for certification.
• Interface with notified bodies, certification authorities and customers on safety topics.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in electrical, electronic, mechatronic, control or safety engineering.
• 3‑5 years of functional safety experience in industrial, energy or hydrogen systems.
• Hands‑on experience with hazard analyses, safety requirements engineering and safety‑related hardware/software.
• Excellent spoken and written English; French or German a plus.
